A year ago, I went to an event called the “Mingling Souls of Dating.”
Which is where I found out about this amazing program called “Food for the Hungry.” Food for the Hungry is organization that touches the lives of so many people who are suffering from poverty. I feel that their values, visions, and purpose are something so different from the others. They give families the necessities that are needed such as: clean water, medical aids, food, education, and much more. Through all the hardships, it's important to have faith that things will turn out for the better. They may not have what we have here, but what's important is that they have each other.
The moment I heard about this organization, I knew this was something meant for me. In my heart, I knew that this was God's calling me to help those children/families who are dire need. We spend so much money on materialistic things, that we forget that we could use our money for a greater purpose. To me, it is the greatest feeling in the world knowing I could make a difference in someone's life. I've always loved giving back to the community and this was a wish come true.
Rose Jean, is five years old and she lives in the Philippines with her family. Every month or two, I get information about Rosa Jean and how she's doing. Although I have never met her, I have so much love for her. I'm hoping in a year or two, to visit her in the Philippines. I want to hug and kiss and tell her how beautiful she truly is. I want her to know that one day, she won't have to live in poverty anymore. What I want for her is to be strong and to educated about the world. To know that through this struggle, she is not alone.
Being apart of this organization for almost a year, has inspired me to go back to the Philippines and take part in outreach programs. I don't know when, but hopefully in a couple years or so, this goal of mine will be achieved. If any of you want to take part in sponsoring a child, I will glad link the website so that you can get more information and make a difference.
